Pretty nice still, just keep reading tuts and youll get there :)

Remember most ps tuts can be translated to gimp.

I tried something using your tutorial.
I just used different renders/c4ds/light textures.
Any pointers?
It definitely didn't turn out the way I wanted.

work on a smaller canvas size, and its quite a bit oversharpened
follow the tutorial to the letter :)

Definitely this.

When youre first starting out you need to follow tutorials closely, after a while once youve learned new tricks and youve gotten better then you can try your own things (while still following tutorials ofc)

Also its best to just leave text out completely in the beginning. The biggest things from what I can see that you need to work on are your colors and lighting.

Yeah... I wasn't exactly sure how to scale down the size of the render/c4d...
I also didn't really like the background that I made with the pen tool.
Anyway, I'll keep trying until I find something I like then I'll show you again.
Thanks for the help <3
