sry for bumping an old topic but i'm a bit confused here
you said to zoom to 200%, but when i do tht i can't see where the line is bending, so is it alright if i zoom to the max 91600%)
also, whenever i add an anchor point and try to curve it decides to curve in two directions, one on one side of the anchor point curves inwards, the one on other side of anchor point curves sh*theadtds, any ideas wot im doing wrong? also wot settings should u use on the pen? atm i'm using freeform pen + paths. is tht right?
otherwise i think i got the gist of it and it works quite nicely

I have a good feeling that you saved is as a .jpg, and not a .png file.

ok! LISTEN UP, THERES A WAY TO FIX ALL THIS... WHEN U START RENDERING, GO TO LAY->DUPE LAYER.
THENN GO TO LAYER-> NEW LAYER. MAKE IT SO THAT THE BACKGROUND COPY IS FIRST, THE NEW LAYER IS SECOND, AND THE ORIGNAL BACKGROUND IS 3RD.. CLICK ON UR CPY OF BACKGROUND. START RENDERING IT WITH PENTOOL LIKE IT SHOWS IN THIS TUT. WHEN U HAVE GONE ALL AROUND, right click, make selection i use a 1 pixel or something like that
hit ctr+shift+I and hit delete... u'll see that nothing happened.now,... where the eyeballs are, deselect the original background and there u go biggrin.gif
