ahh, ty for answering questions while i wasn't here ^^
i was trying to hook up a wireless router which was being a bitch and finally got it up ..
idk if it's working on the other computer yet but atleast i got my connection back happy.gif
but yes, pen tool is overall best for getting ..the best curves around edges w/ ease.

and i believe you have white edges because you didn't make a new layer under the wallpaper before you deleted the selection.

just practice with the pen tool on rendering and soon, i am sure, it will be your best friend ^^

yeah its nice but a bitch to do, takes forfckingever...
but thanks man, I used it to cut the render in my sig out smile.gif

i can tell you used feathering.
really only use feathering if it's something hard to render, maybe places where it's kind of hard to make out like if it's a black line on a dark color in the background alot of the time.. or if it's a bit lower in quality or if it's a bit small maybe.
but if it's really easy to make out from the background it really does alot of good to not do the feathering.

but in most of my sigs i never show the render lines or anything cuz i usually cover some of the outsides of the render in effects, etc. new things will come to you in due time, just keep working at it.

yeah, well feathering does that, that's why i recommend feathering mainly for what i stated a few posts up.
it really does make a difference if you use it right.

nice job and nice tutorial
the pic is pretty easy to render, maybe something with more hair and with some special effects would have given more tips ^^
also its a pretty basic tutorial
i would suggest to do small selections and cuts and to make 2 backgrounds, one white and one black, and check always if the cut has been done well layer image if the

other than that
good job
