How on earth do u get it like that? What brush did u use? :S

I noticed that most good sigs have duplicates of render blurred together for background but in the first steps lol, how do I hide a render? This gives it the blended in look as opposed to sticking out too much right? I know its a noob question but I dont know how to hide the render and the smudge stick is in the tear drop icon right?
