renders is best found (imo) at planetrenders.com - if you haven't registered they may not have a transparent background, i.e you'll have to cut them again! keep in mind to open the render file untill you see it with a transparent background (small squares)
for the dragging over to a black render, theres several methods. I basically click Ctrl-A & then copy paste with the following settings Ctrl-C - now get your blank document - & Ctrl-V it in.
however as mentioned theres another method which I prefer to use when resizing my render. hit Ctrl-T & basically just drag it over by holding your mouse of the render (probs in the center) click it & keep clicking and drag it over.
to resize, you should use the same settings Ctrl-T & resize as you wish. if you'd like to keep them proportioned (wrong spelled ofc) hold in shift in order not to get them out of balance - i.e too thin & mess up the pixels - .
