you would c the text button on the left, w/ a big T on it. then start choosing on top of window for kind of text.

to get free different text, go to dafont.com and just grab the ones you think you might use. hehe, so far i've been messing w/ photoshop for a little over 2 weeks, and my sig right now isn't so bad either compare to others in the request forum.

Now i am following a tut but its not the same CS version... where is the smudge tool in cs3?

on the left side also below the gradient. its the finger. press right click on it, it wil give u 3 options, smudge is one of them
