good, it's not too difficult, well i don't think at least so give it a shot and see if you like the outcome.

and the patterns can be changed to anything, no one has to be restricted to my size or pattern itself, be creative once you get hang of it.

Hmm, ok so I zoom'd in all the way (3200)
but now when I want to fill in the squares the whole 5x5 gets filled?

don't zoom in all the way. use your marqee tool and set it to "fixed size" and make it 1px by 1px and then zoom in until you can make the pattern using the 1x1 square.

if you need more help let me know

It still seems like I'm doing it wrong.. I'm following ur exact tut but it fills the whole 5x5 square O_o
I even went on Marquee then selected fixed size and 1 x 1 and then I clicked on the picture but then it said "Warning: No pixels were selected"
