I think you use the c4d to add flow to your splatters..Which if you check the last step, were all merged into one. So add the c4d, then make a copy of the splatters and put them over to make the clipping mask. Maybe that's it?? And also..It says Clipping Mask mini tut, So I'm pretty sure your splatters are just suppose to be used in a step of the main tut
