Im created a background for my graphics technology course, and I was wondering how to throw in a background such as:
http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/296/mgs4wp81024768hc5.jpg
See image faded out in the background? How do you do this?
My guess is to link the picture to the background, set the opactity to something like 25%, and then use a tool to filter it in, I've done something like this before but I cant remember the tool, am I correct in assuming this? can anyone recommend me a guide that can help me?

Gradients are easy, but I don't think you saw the image mirroring into the background.

this may be a better example, the man in the mask (snake) in the background, I'd lke to know how to do this but faded.

same for both actually, - make sure the image u want on top is at the top on the layer bar.

select the image in the layer bar which u want faded and look on top right where you will c oppacity or fill, you could lower that from 100. this will give u the faded effect.

as for your first post. same thing, its just a bigger picture of the front ones just put behind and lower oppacity.

hope im making sense.

It's easy to throw a link but to actually help takes some work.
