is a “word con.”
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=91282203&f=241&o=0Dealt with this user too and found out the hard way. I confirmed a bet without carefully reading his vomit-paragraph of a pm. When I looked back, I tried to retract and ended up grasping at straws trying to get out of it. Ended up having to pay out too. That is a little different than what happened to mattbrown, but the method was very similar which I’ll explain in a moment. In a moment of frustration and misjudgment I even played the victim as a last ditch effort. It was a self inflicted wound as a result of this user’s con game: “word conning” for lack of a better term.
Yep, a “word con,” because instead of simple replies, he writes in a way that makes it difficult for users to interpret. For example, when I’m on here, if I wanna counter something, I usually just say it. Maybe I’ll write my reasoning along with it, but if I do it’s short and to the point. Whereas this guy will write a short paragraph on his reasoning. The way he writes is exhausting too.
If it’s not a cerebral paragraph, it’s most definitely
a message that can be interpreted multiple ways to leave himself an “out “ or an “in” depending on the outcome. Take that thread for example. He said, “I can cd this bet lmk” leaving him the “in” since he did say “cd” and also the “out” because he said “I can […] lmk” even though by saying “cd” he is basically confirming too. The proof is in the pudding too, when after the fight he quotes them and says “gg fight” to put his catch 22 post into play (post #20 in this thread:
