If Poirier dethrones Khabib this weekend it makes a Conor title shot a lot more marketable (due to McG owning a TKO over DP) than a McG rematch vs Khabib.

If we see Poirier win and the UFC brass once again glosses over TFerg in order to give McG his title shot, what are the odds we see anything different than their first match?

Moreover: if McG wins that belt again from Poirier, is there really any interest in seeing him defend it against Khabib?

I know this is looking far to the future with many hypotheticals, but I’m a McGregor fan with exactly zero interest in seeing him fight Khabib again. Quite selfishly that’s likely due to the fact that I’m sure another loss or two and he’s out of the game for good, because he doesn’t need to continue and likely won’t if he’s handed too many losses.

the khabib rematch is all he needs. khabib is massively over-rated and conor under-performing fed into his narrative. khabib has struggled against bums his whole career, a stylistic matchup and fortunate events are the only reason he beat conor.
