The nickname "Mean Gene" was always funny, in that he was one of the most likable people around. I don't know if I ever heard anyone say a bad word about him (that wasn't part of a script). Hell, Gene had almost as much to do with the explosion of Hulkamania as Hulk Hogan himself.
