sup sup all, quick question for you boxers out there, planning to join a mma gym but focus on boxing and was wondering has anyone had success bulking while doing boxing ? the gym has boxing 3 x a week, just curious on how clean bulking while boxing works out.

I understand calories in / out is the key so yes i know to eat more and replace calories burned with fuel. Just looking for people if they have actual experiences doing said thing. Cheers

just be careful dude are realistically evaluate your weight class judging by your frame

no need to bulk out of your frame and break your asshole like a recent supposed "smart veteran" mma'er did

learn from the fools mistake, you dont want these problems

depends on how serious you are with each separate goal and where you're starting at with your weight. If you want to be able spar regularly you need a lot higher cardio than you think you need, and you're going to need to eat a lot. If you simply want to take a few classes and hit the bag along with your lifting then that's not really a problem.

Personally, i tried bulking at a time when i was sparring twice a week in muay thai and taking classes and lifting, and i couldn't eat enough over long periods of time to really gain. So i stopped sparring which meant my cardio went to shit cus i didn't really need it, but i was then able to put on a lot more muscle over about 6 months while just doing classes/lifting. After i put on the muscle then i maintained the amount i was eating/lifting and started doing more cardio n sparring again and i went back to not being able to gain anything since i was basically hitting an equilibrium point in calories, and maybe my body wasn't getting enough recovery time. I do feel tho that if i could've eaten more i would've been able to gain still just at a slower rate which i would've been fine with. It just wasn't worth it to me to eat more than i was comfortable with every day, so i just cut back on the cardio instead. That's just my experience tho, i'm not a nutritionist or dr or anything.

you can bulk as long as you are building the muscle, all you need to do is include more (healthy) fat in on your diet

Well my situation is like this, currently sitting at around 185 lbs from being fat at 226, so ive dropped a good amount. Yet my goal weight is 155 because im still chubby at 185, its pretty low but im 5'11 in height and i want to start bulking up from a good base physique. im planning to hit my goal weight of 155 and then after that join up with boxing. So maybe 3 months or so. That is a good idea tho, do the classes and lift for a bit to gain some muscle and size. Cause i do want to get involved in sparring and more focused on boxing later on down the road as my end goal and then once im comfortable hop into some BJJ classes since its an mma gym.

You’re looking to drop 30 pounds but you want to bulk?

Seems you are already in position to “bulk” and you just need to lift heavy as fuck.

But if you are wanting to drop the 30 pounds then boxing is a good place to start because those classes are pure cardio
