That's the first moment in a long time that GSP showed power in his hands. Not many dudes can go up a division and flatten the guy with the most significant strikes landed in UFC history.
GSP looked tired, which is why his power punches were so shocking at the end of the fight. He has SNEAKY cardio,
I thought that Bisping lost all 3 rounds, but looked better as round 2 progressed. He did well to get out for most of the takedowns and he also did well striking from his back. GSP was decent in top position but I couldn't tell if he was losing it b/c he was fatigued or b/c Bisping is so good at getting out of those positions. A bit of both.
I expected that GSP might have success with his jab, but I didn't think he'd be so willing to stand, so willing to fire across the top, and so able to put Bisping down. I imagine a lot of credit goes to Roach, but I still don't know how GSP got so much power back in his hands.
He swarmed Bisping and gave him no chance to even realize what was happening until he was nearly unconscious.
Unbelievable. I think it's the greatest win in UFC history because of the way GSP got it done. He was aggressive and he stood and then he crushed Bisping with his hands. But it's not just great in itself; what compounds it is the event. It was a massive card and every championship fight was in some way a shocker. And GSP won after a 4 year hiatus, following a fight where he looked heavy and slow.
GSP, I thought you'd *probably* get the win, I doubted your cardio (still feel OK about doing that), and I never expected you to hit that hard. The jab was expected, but not the rest.
