only Cyborg stand a chance vs Nunes

I respect your opinion and I would also like to thank you for that. It makes me believe I can win big with betting if that fight were to happen.

It's not that Cyborg was bad. It's just that Spencer is so tough and Cyborg probably didn't expect her to eat all her shots like that and come forward.

Nunes hits like a truck yes, but I think the Nunes vs Cyborg fight is a little misleading. Nunes is extremely explosive, but only in the first round. Spencer won't get lured into an all-out slugfest like Cyborg and will just come forward with her hands up and clinch her like she did in the Cyborg fight. Striking while going backwards is hard on the gas tank and exactly what Nunes has problems with. The 51 seconds with Cyborg only showed 1 thing: she can knock a reckless fighter out early in the fight.

Watch the Nunes vs Zingano, it shows you what happens when someone pressures her and can weather the early storm.

/edit: watch the 3rd round of the first Nunes vs Shevchenko fight too. Her last 2 opponents were tactically poor and made her look more invincible than she is. Before that, Miesha was on her way out (lol at Miesha's last fight), little Valentina likes to play safe and Pennington came off a devastating leg injury.

I'll have to check it out. I havent seen this one. Though i had always wondered who some of Nunes losses were to. We know nobody is unbeatable. Although I think we all recognize how divided the women's divisions are in terms of fighters and skill level.

We all thought Cyborg was practically unbeatable, and I think we were a bit surprised at what Nunes did to her.

In their first fight Cyborg underestimated Nunes and got beat up badly.
I want to see a rematch

I agree he might have won round 1, but octagon control is part of score card

Octagon control is a secondary scoring method in a close round

Cyborg won very clearly. Outstruck her by a large margin, landed some bombs to the face, many shots to the midsection, landed a huge leg kick and stopped all her takedown attempts except for the desperate guard pull from Spencer if you count that one. She got stuck in the clinch at times, but Spencer didn't do very much from this position.

Spencer landed a lead elbow on Cyborg's forehead, slashing her and made her face all bloody early in the fight, which made her look like she went through a war.

I think Spencer would stylistically be a very bad matchup for Nunes and wins the 145 belt somewhere in the future when she has upped her striking defense a bit, which she will because she's still young. She's a thick featherweight with a grinding style and great cardio and chin to back it up. She would probably beat Nunes the way Zingano did. Didn't see her wobbly at any point in the fight after eating clean shots. The knees to the body from Cyborg, a Muay Thai specialist, couldn't make her flinch either. She just kept coming forward. I think she would expose Nunes' cardio and her overrated ground game. The time Nunes was safe in a 5 round fight, she was trying to outpoint an undersized counter-striker and using her long limbs to her advantage.

1st round? how does anyone score 1st round for halloway

i had it 49-46 not like it makes much of a difference but lol

just looked at stats halloway got outstuck round 1 as well shocker

one of the judges scored it 48-47

why do you find the 50-45s any more ridiculous than the 48-47 if you scored it 49-46? its a 1 round difference in both cases...

(i had it 50-45 max)
