Good observation.

D.C. > stipe
Gsp > bisping
Conor > Eddie
Henry > Tj

Could be a coincidence. Or maybe discrepancies in size can be offset by tactic and skill easier than discrepancies in speed.

nunes > cyborg too

it's probably a lot of things but a wise man once said precision beats power and timing beats speed

Other than Henry, none of the other guys or Nunes moving up had any chance of losing there original title belt.

They get beat by the champ in a higher weight class they are warriors for even trying. I think that plays a lot into how a fighter prepares mentally.

And I can’t be bothered to look up the exact stats, but in 2018 with the massive weight missing by everyone, more of the competitors that came in heavy won.

e/ And GSP and DC are just superior fighters to the men they challenged. Hell Conor to I supppse, made Eddie poop his pants.

Ufc is so fkn inconsistent, its disgusting. This is a super-fight... @ this level you gotta let these guys fight.

No one wants the looming bullshit of a quick stoppage on either side of the cage.

Whether or not it was the right call, we will never know. One thing for sure is it all happened so fast - putting Goddard out of position nearly the entire scramble for a proper reffing.

Tj def got hit and was in danger, but i know im not the only one here that has seen way deeper comebacks.... Or super late late stoppages from Goddard

Idk if you, or anyone on here has participated in sports that required you to maintain weight. Tj was already at his optimal weight at 135. Losing 10 more pounds, can't imagine the toll it took. Generally losing that type of weight makes you very sluggish, have less energy, slower. All of those cons, plus how much weight did he put back on after weighins?

I'd suspect that Henry isn't too much faster, but his takedowns would have been better than anyone TJ has faught so far. At 135 I would expect it to go all 5 rounds.

i dont think tj can win at that weight class. he was shredded in the previous weight class. like no fat. when he drops down 10 hes dropping muscle. after weigh ins he just gains fat. can u even gain 20+ pounds of muscle in 24 hours?
