People from Dagestan & Chechnya are not what you think when you think of a typical Russian. There was a war there during the 90s when the Russians basically wholesale slaughtered a lot of these ethnic Muslims in southern Russia. People don't understand why Khabib was so hot because they don't understand the culture. It's an honor culture that's very strong on family. If this would have happened in Russia with some random mouthing off at a bar about the guys' religion or family member he literally would have been killed. I remember as a kid stumbling on a video of Chechen fighters beheading like 7-8 Russian soldiers, these people are absolutely ruthless.
