Definitely going out of the fight.

Not taking sides, Jones did throw several illegal shots, but they literally made no difference in the fight...Shogun was pretty much finished at the end of the first, and for sure half way through the second.

And to be honest, he's so fast and aggressive, half of the illegal shots were probably not intentional any way.

Illegal strikes or not, they didn't make the difference.

What did make the difference was the physical advantage of Jones (speed + reach).

Although I also have to say that Shogun didn't look like his normal self. Much more (too) cautious.

shogun looked fat an out of shape. everyone can stop hating on jon jones now, dudes the champ an just destroyed 1 of the best mma fighters of all time.

just re-watched the fight, and Shogun for sure tapped, it was right after Dean stopped the fight, don't think he even realized Dean was on top of him...Impressive fight for Jones for sure...god I should have taken that 20k bet haha...

just having survived the first was epic, the knee he got straight in the head + the following hook should have knocked anyone out, but he managed to hang in, and use his experience and jones's doubts to slow the fight, it's epic of him just to have lasted so long after, it's obvious he never recovered completely.

also, illegal strikes are illegal whether it's intentional or not.
