Dana White seemed genuinely upset about Conor. It could be a promotional play but in this case he seems to think Conor asked to fight Sanchez, and that fight really isn't a good fight. I don't like that Dana White basically insults Diego Sanchez, who is a legend of the sport, but otherwise he got the idea right. It's a mismatch. Early on, in his prime, Diego was a dangerous fighter. But he got weak and he went a bit soft and he never regained his majesty. Conor is a bigger, younger, more talented fighter.
Unless he has a very specific grudge against Diego and he would take it as a tune up fight, he seems to be out of his gourd. His gourd, I say

I wouldn't mind seeing him match up with Ferguson. However, I think Ferguson deserves a shot at the championship after it's decided next month ... but there's Porier in the mix too. I guess Conor could fight the loser of that or the loser of the championship fight and then make his claim to a title match. I think his talent and experience warrant him being able to take on anyone in the top 10, but for now I'd say he's still upper echelon and should still be only one win away from a title shot.
