okay i think i understand. prelim has similar outcomes, but doesn't really have a main event, and possible ppv? and main card is more of a standard night?

two more questions, are fight nights on a fixed schedule and is there any difference in contendors between prelim and main card?

prelims typically just have lower end fighters whereas every main card fight has a top 10 guy fighting somebody else either in top 10 or on their way into the top 10

a lot of the better fights tend to happen on the prelims though

yes fight nights on a fixed schedule just like the PPVs, the next one is on saturday on tv

main card is on tv prelims on fight pass 10:00 PM EST is when it starts on fox sports 1
prelims starts 8:00 PM on ufc fight pass

they aren't exactly "random" you get a list of who will be fighting months leading up to the card it varies, there was one time that the entire card was all heavyweights, but they typically don't do that

it's usually a little bit of every weight class

its not extra for me. its not in the super basic package i dont think though. I use the "xtra" package on directv, but its way more than just FS2 added to it.

I have comcast, every pay channel and almost every channel, but for me it costs more for fox sports 2, maybe I need one of the sports packs to get it, I am not sure though as it isn't a huge deal for me.

you can always buy fight pass ($10 / month) all the old WEC / strikeforce / pride fights are on there and a lot of the ufc fights

also show a lot of the upcoming ufc fight night prelims on there exclusively and even some fight nights are only on fight pass

http://www.ufc.tv/video/lesnar-vs-mir-ii

whole lesnar vs mir 2 event

Hmm, there's always gsp vs Hendrick, or Lawler vs Hendrick

On the heavier side Jones vs gustavson or couture vs silvia

Edit: if you appreciate high level grappling, couture vs noguera
