Not really the backstreet boys and Shania Twain, that are relatively close in sales and those albums are complete shit. Selling records has more to do with good marketing then it does talent.
Yes, that may be true with tody's marketing, but marketing back in 1980 when that album was made was not the same as what marketing is today. Back in that erra bands like AC/DC hardly got any media time at all. Their sales were pedominantly due to word of mouth, from fans who bought albums and seen concerts.
Yeah, you can't use today's marketing to explain AC/DC's Back In Black sales.
