what i mean is, if i only have fox sports 1, will i run into problems with a UFC match only airing on fox sports 2?

oh my bad i read fighters- not fights. i cant say with certainty. I would guess there might be a couple of events like that, but i think the majority of free cards are on fox, or FS1

Pretty much this. Except for some of the lower tier cards have the Prelims on FS2. Its not often anymore though since the whole Fightpass thing.

fox sports 2 costs extra and usually only shows prelims most free fights will show on fox sports 1 or fox for UFC.

Didnt know it costs extra. They also show a bunch of older fighters all week long. Not a ton every night but one every other day type of thing.

How much extra is it? I have the package it comes with for DirectTV

its not extra for me. its not in the super basic package i dont think though. I use the "xtra" package on directv, but its way more than just FS2 added to it.

There's the preliminary fights then the main card
Just separates the free fights and the ppv pretty much

Usually 5 fights on each card

there will be 5 or so fights on the preliminary card (commercials and what not will be going on in between fights)

main card will be 5 fights with a main event, main card will either be free (if it's a fight night) or a PPV (if it's a ufc event such as ufc 179) commercial free, unless it's a fight night then they show commercials but it splits the screen so you can still watch them in corners

okay i think i understand. prelim has similar outcomes, but doesn't really have a main event, and possible ppv? and main card is more of a standard night?

two more questions, are fight nights on a fixed schedule and is there any difference in contendors between prelim and main card?
