well the idea is it is excellent in some situations, and not good but much better than nothing in other situations.
same can go with any martial art
I was specifically refering to the bold portion of his following quote...

Wing chun is absolutely amazing and if it didn't work people wouldn't teach it. Simple as that. Don't listen to all these ignorant kids saying other wise
I've seen plenty of people who take this defend themselves very well.
Muay Thai is what I take and it is also very amazing for self defense and doesn't require any muscle or bigness at all.
It is just whatever you're more comfortable with.
Hope you enjoy it.
As we know, many ridiculous things are taught. I won't mention any specific arts as to not offend, but any mature person with any experience knows that there are certain arts taught that are practically useless. And this is not specific only to martial arts, it's true life across a broad range of subjects. All sorts of worthless things are taught by various people/schools/organizations around the world.
I'm not arguing the quality of Wing Chun as an art one way or the other, I'm specifically refering to his mentality regarding that one sentence. The fact that something is taught doesn't make it good by default. That's all I'm saying
