just the threat of a takedown makes the striking range and everything different.. that muay thai guy is way way way over confident he would get rekt hard by high school wrestlers.. he's living large in asia on the sauce lol

for example, tyrone spong is a kickboxer that KO's people regularly in kickboxing but he recently went to decision with a fat dad-bod mexican in an low-tier MMA organization.

You don't think Conor, the guy who has been training in MMA since he was a teenager and will be recognized as a top p4p fighter in the near future... would be able to take a pure muay thai fighter down? You don't think it'd be a completely different game for Saenchai in there with 4 oz gloves on and fighting someone with movement like Conor?

C'mon the guy is a great thai fighter but to say RIP Conor if he ever came to mma is a bit ridiculous. The guy would get slaughtered

Saenchai doesn't rely on glove-size, guy fights bareknuckle all the time...

Conor has gotten hit by every mediocre striker he's fought, all this talk about his movement is smoke. Saenchai has fought pure strikers 300+ times and has never been knocked out. He would hit conor and dodge his strikes until conor fell down and didn't get back up, it wouldn't even be a challenge for him and anyone who says otherwise knows nothing about striking.

Now, if your argument is that conor would use his obviously great grappling that we've never seen... Heh.

I agree that saenchai would have a huge problem against any grappler, most would beat him 9/10 imo, guy is too old to learn jiujitsu. Conor isn't a grappler tho, everyone thinks he's the greatest based completely on his striking. Saenchai was a better striker than conor 10 years ago and has only gotten better

Kids are morons. jose aldo would make saenchai look like an amateur in an mma fight and you saw how he faired against Conor.

This isn't Muay Thai. This is mma. it's all pure speculation and if the dude did come to mma he would never even make it up to a fight with Conor. Quit disrespecting the king turds

Did you even read what I said?

any other mma fighter wouldn't try and out strike saenchai which is why I didn't mention Aldo. Which is why the Conor argument is fun to speculate. Before this video got posted I was pm'ing someone saying the same thing as you as far as how he'd do in the mma in general. I'd hate to see scrubs just beating him with wrestling.

Pretty much, their lack of foot work would end badly in mma with guys like conor, condit, Thompson, cruz etc

Andy Souwer knocked Carlos Condit out with leg kicks...

You don't run so well if you got a guy chopping those legs full force. ^_^

Long time ago... and the result would not be any different today.

Condit is tough tho... I seen the fight, but now I can't find it anywhere anymore.
He stuck in there way longer than I expected, but he was completely outclassed.

Another example would be Robbie Lawler against Melvin Manhoef.

Look what he did to Robbie's legs... those brutal low kicks change the whole game... there ain't no running... lol.

Of course Robbie is also a tough mofo and won that fight purely on that... but them leg kicks. <3

Very long ago... 2003. It was his first sanctioned fight ever too.. Getting thrown to the wolves is an understatement lol.

He had a bad weight cut too, was cutting 7 pounds but he had no idea how to cut weight back then.. Didn't eat anything for 4 days to cut 7 pounds lol. Then went a few rounds with Souwer.

edit: 5 rounds actually.

Souwer was 12-3 and it was Condits first fight lol
