Andy's profession was being a mixed martial artist. Andy is retired and boxing as a hobby, which he's luckily able to get paid for because of his mma accomplishments. That's like saying James toney was a professional mixed martial artist.
Man, sometimes you just get it.

That's not a good example at all. They slated Toney up against someone on their way out of MMA (46 y/o Couture) and it was his only pro MMA fight period, Toney was 42 y/o at the time of that fight. When people talked about Silva vs. Paul, the public truly believed Silva would absolutely destroy Paul (based on his MMA accomplishments) so much that Silva was bet all the way up to almost a -200 favorite until it rationally came back down with sensible bettors. It seems the general public that hates Paul will clammer at any notion that he is garbage, and the next fighter they put up against him will "definitely smoke Paul" and then back peddle after the fight saying it was either staged or that said MMA fighter was over the hill (usually the latter). This was not Silva's first Pro Boxing Match and probably won't be his last. Silva is literally almost twice Paul's age, his fault for thinking he could either A ) Beat him or B ) Catch a fat cheque and not have people discredit him. He is definitely a professional boxer, whether he considers it a hobby or not.
Amateurs get paid as well.
