the GOAT conversation will never be settled.
you could take the greatest minds in history in a room together discussing this.
just recency bias alone is a logical fallacy which we're all victim of.
we were not around to witness the true domination of fighters such as
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crixus <--- Don't fuck with the Gauls
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flammahttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melankomas <--- greek boxer who won fights by simply dodging everything and never being hit once.
and this again is recency bias because it pertains to our greco-roman influence on western/European society.
you can't possibly begin to say greatest of all TIME without including the men who are the reason you can watch this sport in the first place.
but you'll never see them in action. you'll need only trust their records and the legends that were written about them.
So far in like 3 pages that I feel is worth responding too lol
I disagree with not being able to say who the goat is without seeing the pioneers in the game. I feel it's obvious that today's athletes are easily more intelligent, athletic, innovative, and prepared than any other era in sports history. Don't you agree? So by far, for example JBJ taking his pico grams and getting off on it is easily much better in all of the areas I've pointed out while being a genetic freak and we have great fucking medical/medicine so we can train harder and heal faster. It's just not fair to compare who is goat other than those in the most recent era because the playing field is by far not even.
bias is something that can be negated with paper stats, which you would have to take serious and have weight significance than ''heart'' for example. As heart can't be measured. though it can't be eliminated ever so yeah.
