If you rate McGregor above Royce Gracie (or anyone above Gracie; other than another Gracie..) then you need to take some time to watch the original UFC Events, pre weight classes. I'm more impressed, personally, with what Royce was able to do than any other fighter I've witnessed, and shit I like, I like alot.. MMA is one of those things.

I have every UFC Event on my laptop, a ton of Strikeforce/Pride/BMMA/plenty of other shits- complete fighter collections (including McGregor, I am a fan, but his shit still stinks?) - I personally liked McGregor better in Cage Warriors than the UFC. He was still hungry. Now hes just.. well.. catered to, and it seems less authentic.

And I guess thats where my resentment comes in for McGregor, and mostly all the posts on his nuts that I came across almost instantly after finding this forum.

But tell me Khabib doesn’t take McGregor down at will for five rounds and hump him to victory? UFC is protecting their investment, more of an entertainment thing now than actual competition.

1st - dont argue with them
2nd - Khabib has a good chance of taking Conor down and submitting him. If he does not get ko'd before.
3rd - we cant see Khabib vs Conor because HE RAN AWAY from the current interim champion

The pioneer of holding subs too long, royce was a giant douche. But yeah what he did in the early 90s was amazing. Royce vs. Severn was the 90s version of Anderson vs. Chael

Plus the gracies handpicked royce's opponents. The ufc wasn't created to find out what the greatest martial art was, it was created to demonstrate that bjj was the greatest martial art.

Royce Gracie shows to the world that technic can beat power and brawlers and he did it over 2-3 UFC in a row.
He setup the blue print on how mma should be vs brawlers and stand up and trade punches.
After Royce, the MMA start to evolve to the sport we have today
