I guess I'll get the ball rolling here again since Canelotoe can't. Boxing pun of the year right there fellows amirite.
I'm pretty damned hyped about the fight. I'm keeping GGG as my pick, but not by much. Vegas seems to be closing the gap, too. Canelo has better speed and skill (I don't think it's even close, but GGG is a good boxer), and yet I don't know how successful he will be in countering, just because GGG hits like a heavyweight. If GGG can't KO Canelo by the end of 6, I think Canelo gets the win. I say this because if it goes the distance he will dominate late rounds. Then it's up to the judges to go with early impact or late impact. Politically Canelo should be able to steal a reasonably close decision.
This fight will be in my opinion:
- the best test of GGG's defense--by far
- the most dangerous fight for Canelo--by far
- exciting as f*ck if they fight as expected
If neither of these guys changes strategy, it should end with a head hitting the canvas. GGG could lose for being stubborn and Canelo could lose for being too brave.
I'm hoping it isn't a super boring fight where both guys are scared of going to sleep. This is the best boxer GGG has ever faced and sometimes that leads to punchers holding back
