I just want to chime in, even though I shouldn't. More UFC fighters should be going to bellator, they will make more money there and have more freedoms. If enough went over it could eventually push a bunch of the good fighters getting paid scraps to go over and make it a truly competitive organization. It would be in all of the fighters best interests just to hear offers from bellator when their contracts are almost up. If the masses went there they could have the competition they have now with none of the bullshit that dana and the ferttitas bring to it. Turn ufc into the bottom of the barrell company because with how it is ran that is all it really is. I don't understand why more fighters don't talk on the download and make an uprising of fighters interested in switching. To either actually make the switch or demand better right from the ufc. Just the sponsorships on the shorts should be a key thing that that I feel should push a lot more fighters over, fighters were double or tripling their earning when they could do that and to have it removed for ufc's shit idea of what they thought was a fair replacement is just stupid.

Bellator just don't have the money to pay every fighter 100/100. That's why the UFC doesn't mind losing Benson, they know they will lose a few good fighters to bellator but they can't get everyone. They simply just don't have the overhead.

For the UFC, it sucks they lost benson, he's a company man, took fights on short notice in TWO divisions, and is a top 5 LW... They used the shitty rankings and his inactivity at LW to say he was a #15 LW and tried to use that as leverage in negotiating his contract.

Using tactics like bonuses if he becomes champ when they setup his fights is pretty dirty IMO.

The fact is a company man like Benson was getting paid about 5k more win+show then Sage Northcutt... A former champion and company man... And to add that Lorenzo came out and said mid tier fighters make about 600k a year w/ 3 fights , which is just a blatant lie, makes his contract even more sad because he is far from a mid tier fighter.

To get back to topic, yeah Bellator is far from scoping the market at the rate you want. They can only take a handful of fighters at that pay, it would take a LONG time to get into PPV's that are profitable to take on a quarter of the roster UFC has.

All in all, i'm happy for Benson. He gets to fight for another 2-3 years and retire making probably triple to quadruple a fight or more then what he was getting in the UFC.

bellator is backed by viacom.... If they really wanted to they could outbid on every single ufc fighter and turn bellator into ufc quite easily. I honestly am not sure why they haven't offer similar pay, allow the fighters to display sponsors, and work on a fighters union would have the ufc fighters flocking. Reason viacom hasn't dropped that cash yet is because how bellator currently performs and they is only because of the ufc. Knock those fuckers off the top and go for the push. It's a billion dollar industry they could run with little initial commitment

The fertittas themselves are billionaires. I'm sure if they thought they could knock off the UFC tomorrow they would, but they can't.

It's more about the brand then anything, most people know about the UFC.. It's the quite opposite with Bellator.

The UFC has built themselves as a brand, and bellator isn't even close to achieving that on the level the UFC has.

I'm pretty certain Bellator WILL ALWAYS be the B-league which isn't a bad thing for fighters and fans.

Ben Henderson's Bellator debut will be for the 170 lbs title, not 155

Is every championship gonna be a two (or even three) parter now?
