The Brock Lesnar hype is mainly to draw UFC fans to check what he does now, just like the Rock and other movie stars use the hype to draw new audiences to the show. (and in return to have WWE fans check out movies starring the Rock for instance)


Look at it this way: Nobody can beat the Hulk in the Hulks own game, aka a fight in pure strength and power. (read: Undertaker at Wrestlemania)
So if a super villain came along and murdered the Hulk with ease, and in the next movie he murdered Iron Man also with ease (read: John Cena) , wouldn't you be eager to see the next Marvel movie starring that villain? Because now you no longer know if the good guys will win or not.

I know that's kind of a bad comparison but you get my point? :P It's a drama soap opera for men and they want to draw attention to it any way they can and make everything seem like a big deal

mkay, i get it just don't like it lol. seems like more politics then I'd care for in entertainment. as adults, i couldn't imagine watching it without going insane. having your wins and basically career, dictated and determined for you just scratches my head. as a kid, it's great. as an adult, don't see how it can be watched lol. anyways, thanks for info.

Well yes and no, it all comes down to how good of an entertainer you are :P You can't be the top dog if nobody wants to see you

I think the problem most people have with it is the fact that they expect it to be real and want to compare it to real wrestling or UFC etc, and yes if you expect it to be a real sport then you will be disappointed :)

i wouldn't mind it being fake, and i do remember alot of cool factor, especially since my favs back then was undertaker and his brother. what i do not like, is the pre-determined winner of a match. that, and them dictating how your career goes based on your ratings.

Decent start/end to Raw. Pretty much skipped everything in between. Hilarious how their insults are so lame in the PG era: "lol your tie is pink hehe burn".

Even though it's wrestling/fighting, it's entertainment first. You need to give the crowd a good show, and whoever does that the best deserves the airtime and fame.

All TV shows and movies are scripted entertainment but people look down upon wrestling for some reason. If you can get past the "lol oiled guys in underwear touching each other lol" part then it's the same as any other show or movie, IMO.

It's entertaining because it actually takes skill and talent to be great at it, and it's fun to watch those people do their thing (Austin, Rock, Undertaker, etc.)

why do you watch smackdown? im usually one of the ones that watch all raw's/smackdowns even if it's crap but I don't even bother watching smackdown anymore...it's been uber garbage for like at least 8 months++...smackdown was at least "watchable" last year even tho it was bad

now it's just 100% jobber matches, no promos, no world champ ever on it, main events that are rematches from raw and finish 80% of the time in a DQ

I watch replays of what happened in the 2-3 mins clips on the wwe's youtube channel, that's it

e/ rather watch an episode of total divas season 3 than smackdown

rumors goin around that cena is still having trouble with his shoulder from last times surgery also his neck may cut his career shorter. Like wwe is almost tempted to say hes had enough its all over the web
