maybe he felt like it was a mistake accepting stipe as a fill in or he really did get injured but yeah its sketchy.

The only thing I can think is its an injury that happened a little while ago that he was gonna fight through for Cain and that paycheck. Nobody is tuning in to watch Stipe right now. Still a huge bitch move, but I could semi understand that logic.

I don't think it's sketchy. He's right, this is his career and it's almost over. Working through the injury to fight Cain makes a lot more sense than working through his injury to fight Stipe. It's just not worth it.

If he lost to Cain he'd most likely get an immediate rematch. If he lost to Stipe, Cain would likely be the next to fight Stipe and then if Werdum beat someone else he might get the next shot and might not, either way it would be 2017, maybe even 2018 before he got a chance at the belt. He would be 40 at that point. Give the guy a fuckin break


Also Jon Jones said he'd step in to fight Stipe, but only for the real heavyweight belt heh. Obviously isn't going to happen but still funny

If they go 1-1 you don't think it's an immediate rematch? Way too easy to sell, and every other possibility is not easy to sell, it would almost definitely happen.
