fighting is and always will be based on numbers. i would like for it to be based on rankings, but that simply isnt practical. team sports like that also have seasons, and all the teams play the same amount of games. it's just apples to oranges.

The structuring is fine for now... Football has a much larger fan base, been around much longer, has billionaires backing EVERY team... Also, if you based it on rankings, it would be the same one or two fighters contending for the belt each time... Would get stale pretty quick. Also, holms wouldn't have the title like she does now much like alot of the belt holders. I'm not even gonna go into how shitty of a draw Holms would be without that Ronda fight, kind of off topic any how.
