Lorenzo Fertitta: UFC will pull in a record $600 million in 2015

they need a fighter union..

Only 600 million? And it's a record? I figured the ufc had multi billion dollar profits even in a bad year.

It's no wonder they get bitch deals with the real big boys such as fox and Nike, they're a chump league.

And yet, even with that chump sports money, it should be a federal crime to pay their athletes so little, it's disgusting.

Edit: the NHL makes about 4 billion a year in revenue, maybe more I'm going purely by memory, and they're begging for table scraps at the big boys table with the major networks, just to put things in perspective.

Edit 2: let's play comparisons, NHL players have a minimum wage around 1 million, best players are paid 5,at let's assume 7 times the revenue. So, assuming 600 fighters or so, like the nhl has players, the undercard guys should be paid around 150k a year, the big boys 1.5 million. Even if you have 10 fighters making 10 million a year, there's no decent reason the undercard guys should make under 100k

Edit 3: on top of that, NHL teams are paying for all traveling and training expanses to the players, something ufc fighters have to pay from their own pocket

Ah.... how long has the nhl been around? We're looking at the infancy of mma compared to any other sport. Go look at what professional hockey players were getting percentage wise 20 years into the league. Basketball pay was a joke until the 90s and football players still get paid bunk unless youre a star.

These dudes get paid 15k to show up for 1 day. Hockey football baseball basketball they are all under contract for the entire season and the off season. They practice for their team everyday. Ufc fighters practice for themselves.

It's really not even fucking close to a fair comparison

It’s not quite Mayweather-Pacquiao money, but it’s still not a half bad haul for only 13 seconds of work.
According to information released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, for his 13 second demolition of Jose Aldo last Saturday night, the new king of MMA Conor McGregor banked $500,000. Not including any post-fight or PPV bonuses, with only the disclosed salary, McGregor averaged more than $38,461 per second. In the losing effort, Aldo earned $400,000-still not a bad haul for taking a left hook to the face.
Other purses, including the McGregor-Aldo fight from UFC 194 are listed below, and do not represent a fighter’s total earnings- sponsorship incomes, pay-per-view incomes, or post-fight bonuses are not publicly disclosed by the UFC.

I bet second to second cost it's close after all is said and done. 13 seconds compared to 2100 seconds.

E: I lied. Floyd would have to have made 800 million if McGregor is making the 5 million I expect he is

do you have a source that actually tells what each fighter weighed? I can't find one. I found one for the fights the other day, but not this one

yeah, that's pretty much what I said. I sort of feel bad for being so judgemental, but a woman with that kind of frame shouldn't take steroids... I mean, cmon...
