In all honesty, the 12-6 elbows in my opinion aren't near as damaging as the oblique kicks CAN be. Wouldn't mind seeing those done away with. Please understand that I only speak from my own peraonal martial arts/fighting experience.

On topic- I think Aldo will win but I could totally see Connor winning too. I wouldn't bet either way

apparently no one here understands what 12-6 elbows are. You're allowed to elbow someone's head directly into the mat. The only time it's illegal is when your hand is pointed to 12 and your elbow to 6 and you bring it straight down.

I said 12-6 elbows are NO more dangerous than any other type of elbow. The fact that another type of elbow is more dangerous than 12-6 doesn't prove that wrong

If your head is against the ground and someone is elbowing you in the face, I'm pretty sure you aren't going to give a fuck what way their hand is pointing.

I thought 12-6 elbows were originally outlawed because one of the commission members saw one of those karate guys break like 5 bricks doing a 12-6 elbow from a standing position and thought it was too dangerous to have in MMA....

And no this isn't a troll... Everyone knows an "over the top" elbow, like how you would throw an "over the top" right handed punch hits wayyyyyy harder than a 12-6. The 12-6 elbow is just an ancient rule that was never changed.

Jon jones drops mad knowledge in this... And the elbows he's throwing at the very end are far worse than a 12-6, the way he comes over the top and really puts his body weight into it.
