Afaik, the only reason UFC didn't want them is because they looked too brutal. Hence making it harder to sell the sport to the public as not being a bloodsport.

Getting kicked in the head is pretty rough, no doubt. But getting flying elbowed on the ground is no joke either (Hendo vs Bisping anyone?).

Yah.
Anyway, it wasn't because it was too dangerous that soccerkicks were outlawed. It was because it was felt that it would negatively influence the public view on the sport, making it harder to have it regulated/legalized/...

Hit him with a number of 12-6's. Afaik Hamil is still alive.
If the ref didn't DQ Jones, then he'd have stopped the fight anyway as a TKO, most likely.


What about the spinning kicks then? The guy on Tuff took it pretty badly, the one Barboza threw was brutal as well.

Disallow those kinds of kicks?

Just saying if jones was allowed to throw 12-6s they'd be a lot more frequent and lot more brutal lol
