man pulls out gun, you beg for your life

Instance 2:

You engage said man before you are even aware he has a weapon, and he is of course unable to produce the weapon as he is already being attacked.. because tbh, you would have to have the hand-eye coordination of a two year old to allow an opponent to reach into his shirt or pocket to produce a weapon (maybe in your case this is true, but not in mine)

There's almost no situation where a man carrying a gun wouldn't be ready to use said gun if he were in an altercation.
Even if you land a takedown you are still wrestling on the ground with a man who has a gun.
