People underestimating Hill here, I think he stands a much better chance then he's getting credit for. Could Periera knock him out? Sure. But we have also seen Pereira's chin waver.

pereira leg kicks could easily win this but i wouldn’t count hill out

if i bet hill i’d be doing it by KO

Sorry, the reason for this post wasn’t to discount Hill’s chances, but rather wondering what the response to it being the main event of 300, which was supposed to be ā€œhugeā€, was. You know they tried like hell to get some other fights made, and this was likely plan G if not worse. I can say it certainly surprised me, so there’s that!

I read the OP and understand the point of it... my post was simply meant to address what I perceive to be the general sentiment of the outcome of this fight.

To address your OP, obviously it was overall lackluster after all of the hype. To score it on an ordinary PPV, i'd say an 8/10 fight with the whole Glover being Pereira's pal narrative. To score it on UFC 300, I would give it a 5/10 main event.

his chin is fine at 205... he was dehydrated at 185. he has been known to be durable his entire kickboxing career

His kickboxing career was years ago and he has only gotten older/hit more since. I would argue he hasn't gotten tagged at 205 yet the way Izzy cracked him. I do agree the weight cut certainly was a factor.

On paper Periera should win in the stand up, my point was that people are overlooking the skills/attributes of Jamal Hill.

Jiri hit him with pretty good shots, but I agree Hill is better than people give him credit for. He should not have gotten the belt though, those were some insane circumstances where jiri got injured and the jan/mag fight was a draw
