I 100% agree with your second statement. If he takes the fight he should get incentives. Maybe not as much pay if the UFC wants to argue that, but bonuses and guarantees if he were to lose and shit.

In my personal opinion I think every fighter on the roster should have a small base salary of pretty much what training costs. It would be a minimal cost to the ufc and would make it so fighters wouldn't have to make shit deals with coaches and training partners to give up large chunks of their fight pay. It would make it so fighters would be in fight shape more often I think too, which would lead to more ready replacements.


Its common for a fight organization to pay their fighters if their opponent misses weight and they cannot fight.

Future opportunities? The UFC takes a giant dump on most of these fighters, no matter how much money they made the company.

If you're not the biggest star on their roster, they crap on you.
Many ex-superstars from the ufc have felt that pain.
