watched this video being unbiased as possible, i agree, but disagree with a few points he made
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGFLoYGTrNE
he talked about conor getting "beat up" by mendes which is far from the truth
conor had a lot more strikes landed and did a lot more damage
so that i disagree with..
also he never mentioned that conor checks leg kicks (given aldo's are on a different level i understand) but still being a south paw that's a further distance to travel so i don't believe they'll be as "readily available"
i do agree that aldo's speed / athleticism is beyond crazy and he will have some counter punches of his own.. but he left out the reach factor
he never once mentioned how much aldo got LIT UP by mendes whereas conor avoided mended completely with his reach (only shots mendes really landed were in the clinch or on the ground)
either way it's a pretty nice video, i'm sure i'll disagree with a few things if he posts up a conor one even
people really need to rewatch the mndes mcgregor fight without bias. Mendes barely landed any shots in the clinch, also landed as many punches as mcgregor standing. On the feet up until the ko mendes was landing just as many hard shots as mcgregor.
http://www.fightmetric.com/fight-details/70290140b6a8e038The main difference in the sig strikes is the kicks... nothing else. I feel mendes was getting the better of mcgregor until the ko, and would love to see that fight again with proper preparation on both sides. Edgar mcgregor doesn't interest me as much as a rematch with mendes does. I get more excitement from a fight that could end at any second, vs edgars style. yes he is very technical but it's like watching a gsp fight. It is his opponent that makes the fight exciting or not, we always know what he is bringing to the table.
Aldo vs mendes 2 was a war back and forth. I think it will be similar vs mcgregor, neither fighter is getting knocked out, aldo will win a decision. If mcgregor wins a decision it will be controversial in my eyes, his only way to win is by ko and I just don't see that happening. The leg kicks for aldo will be there just as always, the way he throws his kicks, they are usually set up by punches. He doesn't throw many leg kicks until he has his opponent expecting something else, and mcgregor pushes forward pretty much always now which opens them up even more.
I have no problem with people like star who can acknowledge aldo's skill, it's mcgregor fans like maji and mvp who seem to think aldo has no chance in this world which is absurd. both fighters have a chance to win this fight.
