Businesses don't expand the way the UFC does, while in debt. In the last two-three years, they've scored a major cable network deal, added two new weight classes and plans for a third, added two entire promotions into their flock and nearly doubled their active fighter roster. That doesn't mention the new fighter's insurance program that Zuffa has implemented, or the fact they pay fighters more than they ever have. You really don't need specific financial information to see the UFC isn't in debt and will continue to grow rapidly. They're even planning two separate events on the same night early next year.

Technically, I am getting my information from a "UFC source".

Info about UFC 120, the last event which Bisping headlined over in Europe:

Quote
According to the UK president of the UFC, Marshall Zelaznik, UFC 120 was expected to break the European attendance and gate receipts records,[11] having sold out the original seating plan.[12] The gate record prior was 16,693, set by UFC 105, with the record gate receipts coming in at $2.7m at UFC 75.[11] This later proved partially correct, as the event set a new European attendance record of 17,133, but fell just short of the gate receipts figure with $2.56m.[1] With over 17,000 spectators, the event became, at that time, the ninth most attended event in UFC history.[1]
Despite the record attendance, the viewing figures on Spike TV were reduced from the last event to take place in England. UFC 120 averaged 1.9 million viewers, whereas UFC 105, in November 2009 had averaged 2.9 million.[13]

okay I understand what you're saying & yes it makes a lot of sense, but I have some questions, before signing that 7 year contract with fox, why do it though? if the ufc was so big and everyone knew why sign that 7 year contract? doesn't that tell you that the ufc wasn't as big as they said? it wasn't making those numbers? that's where I'm curious, Why use a Huge network like fox to put you on the map when you claim to already be as big as you say.

here's another example,

that second Quote: how are you suppose to double check that? our u.s government tells us a shit load of stuff, but we don't know the real Truth.

How are you supposed to check that? Click the links and read the articles. I'm not going to address conspiracy theories or any other delusions, that's up to you to deal with if you buy into it. I simply don't care, life really isn't that bad.

The UFC has been with Spike for a long time now but Spike is nowhere near as big as FOX. FOX has a multi-million viewer advantage over Spike, exposure on that scale is way different than what can be achieved on a basic cable channel like Spike. It's a whole new level of competition. What medium do you think is better for expanding?

Bringing the UFC onto FOX puts the UFC in position to directly compete with the major league sports like the NFL and NBA.

Yea basically as you said if the UFC going on fox means anything it means it was much better then they were letting on. Not only that Dana said the UFC was talking about buying the G4 channel and even though G4 is a small time channel TV air times don't have small time prices.

That's not the way business works, Dana White is still struggling to get the UFC onto the mainstream map, again I wish I could see the numbers his generating so I can see how it's financially standing.

hey tried competing with boxing and couldn't, boxing is very much still here and generating good numbers, you honestly think his going to compete with these other sports? LOL!!111

The truth of the matter is I'm looking at this from a business point of view, you're viewing this as a fan of the ufc, and you're willing to say anything to prove me wrong,
but like I said, I wish we could see the true amount of rating and the numbers their generating.

Obvious troll is obvious. Don't waste your time on this kid, he has 90% warn, and him and Hrist are butt-buddies, that should tell you everything. And the UFC couldn't compete with boxing? LOL. Fuckin' LOL. The UFC has surpassed boxing, brochacho. When Floyd or Pacman fight, yes, they generate better PPV numbers than UFC events -- however, they don't fight every fucking month. Shit, Floyd has fought one time in the past year.

How is he struggling? He signed with the largest cable network on TV. The Mayweather fight was on HBO and the FOX>HBO comparison is insane. Fox has no competition with HBO that is how much bigger they are. Boxing puts on maybe 1-2 big fights a year and that is Mayweather and PAC. Nobody knew or cared who Ortiz was. Nobody cared to see Margarito or Mosley. The UFC is putting on 1-2 big shows a MONTH. UFC live 6 just set UFC records as the most watched FREE show they have ever put on. Not only was it free it was on basic cable and that alone is insane. If you don't think MMA has taken over the fight circuit you are delusional and quite honestly silly.
