IMO best thing Gaethje does for himself and the sport as a whole is ignore McNuggets and money. Fight for the belt now cause the money is coming in regardless.

As a conor fanboy the best you can hope for is for someone else to go up and dethrone Khabib. He should sit back and root for gaethje and fight someone else for $$ in the meantime and hope he doesn’t lose title contention. If gaethje wins the belt, conors odds of winning the title back are so much higher. But if he blows his wad now and fights gaethje the only place he can go from there is under Khabib again.

Tbh connors name shouldnt even be close to title contention the dude hasnt beat any real top5 competition in so long... he beat poirier 6 years ago and thats the only top5 name he can actually say hes beat but again it was 6 years ago... like dude he needs to fight at least 2 top5 guys to even be considered IMO.

I love cerrone to death hes ny fav fighter but he was an easy pick for connor... that was a tune up fight not a contention fight....
Connor needs to fight tony or rematch poirier to be considered.

id take that fight if i was justin. more exciting, more money, more people watching. let khabib sit in his hole for the next 6 months as punishment for running away from tony, let conor and justing headline the newyears card, and tell khabib he still has to fight tony to get a shot at the real champ.
