People are one insult away from being savage again. Thats one of the great tricks of our time. That we are some how "civil". That we have evolved above petty violence.

The biggest evolution was prison imo. Savages now have to face consequences other than just being killed by someone more savage.

If prison is an evolution then we are doing it wrong. I think we had partially had it right hundreds of years ago. Eye for an eye type status. If we combined todays technology as far as crime solving goes with merciless punishment administered swiftly, we wouldnt be paying so much taxes for a bunch of turds on death row

remember when I was part of the RIMPAC exercise in Hawai and we entered pearl harbour and at the dock, I saw few japanese subs and told to myself that despite many attrocities in the world, we might go in the right direction.
