CM Punk had equal amount of experience in MMA as connor had in boxing.

CM Punk fought nobodies.
connor fought arguably the best boxer of all time.

Conor's base is boxing. He's been doing it for almost 2 decades, just obviously at a peewee level compared to floyd. And conor punched people in the face to earn championships in combat sports. So there was at the very least a puncher's chance. CM punk is just a guy who decided to fight one day. Relatively speaking the gap between conor/floyd could be seen as the same/smaller than the gap between a Mega Nobody(cm punk)/a nobody (Gall).


I feel like conor vs floyd is like an NFL kicker(Floyd) challenging Ronaldo(conor) to a game of Field Goal HORSE. While cm punk's fight was like a high school kicker challenging my grandma.
