As for nog, I believe he was hospitalized for something for like 3 weeks right before their fight,

though based on mirs last fight I think he might do the same again, since he is so much bigger now.

Lesnar doesn't "suck", he's not very skilled as an MMA fighter but obviously what he does posses has been sufficient to gain him the title (Although he really hasn't proved himself yet...) he beat Heath Herring who is a scrub, the guy got beat down by some rando his first time in the UFC...He beat Randy who is quite frankly way too small and way too old to be fighting guys like Brock/Cain/Carwin/Mir. Then he beat Mir who in my opinion let himself be beat via a foolish plan to let Brock sit on him and pound away.
