Did I say Aldo's ground game isn't superior? Do you know how to read, I said his ego won't let him.

Add in, aldo is a stand up fighter, period. He's not going to completely change who he is and while Aldo's jiu jitsu is sick as fuck he doesn't finish people and he's not Mendes when it comes to wrestling, not even close. He won't be able to hold / control conor on the ground like mendes did, but then again no one at 145 will be able to do what mendes did, besides mendes himself.

Let's not act like Aldo is some amazing ground fighter, he's never submitted or ground and pound finished anyone in the UFC. He's got what? 1 or 2 submission victories in his whole career. Sure he does good in jiu jitsu competitions but it hasn't translated to his MMA game.

I read what you said just fine, I said how do you know how aldo is going to play it out? And if he does go to the ground he will completely dominate mcgregor, and even if they stand I feel standing that's a 50/50 split as far as striking goes. You are giving aldo no chance at all and yet he has the better chance of winning no matter how you break it down. I acknowledge mcgregor can win, it's just aldo has the better opportunities there. You are so blind you can't even acknowledge that aldo can win. Let alone the fact he has more ways to win also.

He doesn't have more ways to win... It's not 50/50 on the feet, not even close. And wtf is this amazing Aldo ground game, he's never submitted anyone in the UFC, I don't think he ever submitted anyone in the WEC even. So wtf r u talking about?

Aldo is a stand up fighter, he's not going to change who he is and what he does in the biggest fight of his life.

He's going to try and stand with conor, his body will be destroyed just like chads was, and he will be KO'd probably with the jab straight left combo that conor seems to finish everyone with the exception of Poirier with.

Conor's pressure on the feet is too much and Aldo's conditioning is too bad.

That's because he's always fighting wrestlers, so he keeps it on the feet where he has had the clear advantage. Aldo will stand with Conor, I agree with that, but if he feels like he doesn't have the upper hand on the feet he's going to take him down. That's Aldo's modus operandi, it's what he's always done. If he's losing on the feet he wins on the ground. The reason he doesn't have many wins on the ground is because he's always winning on the feet, not because he can't win on the ground... He has two black belts in grappling and as has been mentioned he is not an undeserved blackbelt.

You're looking at how he fought chad and frankie and saying that's definitely how he's going to fight Conor. It just doesn't make much sense, do you think his camp thinks that Conor is a wrestler? Do you really think that after watching how easily chad took him down that his camp isn't talking about how Aldo can beat Conor on the ground?

Yeah, I agree with this. I think Aldo could compete at a high level in wrestling too working so hard on it for so many years. He is a mixed martial artist after all, I wouldn't be surprised at him getting a takedown against the cage one bit.

Do you really think he can do what Chad did?

He's got sick jiu jitsu in competition, sure. His wrestling isn't even on the same planet as mendes though.

Somehow although Aldo has never really shown amazing ground work in the UFC, people talk about him like he's a mix of mendes and maia.Chads probably pound for pound top 3-5 wrestler in the UFC. There's a reason he could do what he did.

You already see the quotes where Aldo's saying he's going to hurt him so badly blah blah blah. Conor is in his head, he's got Jose rattled and it's gonna work in his favor. Jose will try and stand with him, his body will be destroyed, and then he will be KOd.

I literally just can't wait until those two are staring at each other with Herb or Big John in the middle telling them "if you wanna touch gloves do it now." Im gonna be giddy like a little girl, so excited.

At least now your guys arguments are a little better. I remember when the fight was first announced people talking about aldo killing conor on the feet.. At least you've moved onto "well he can take him down and submit him."

he's a brown belt, not entirely sure how good of a brown belt in straight bjj but he rolls quite a bit

i'm sure he'll be fine, mendes couldn't do anything to him from the top for 2 rounds aside from a few elbows, the second he went for a sub conor scrambled flawlessly

Of course.. But that doesn't fit the argument they're making...

Let's ignore conor almost having a completely torn acl vs mendes, let's ignore him preparing for a striker then being thrown the best wrestler in the division, let's ignore the amount of kicks he threw and that he could learn to pick his spots a bit better to keep from getting taken down.

somehow your argument still gives aldo no credit at all, like he can't win anywhere which is just stupid. Seriously riding one mans nuts this hard should be a crime. It's not 50/50 on the feet? Are you fucking kidding me? Aldo has destroyed basically everybody he has fought standing. And it has been the VERY TOP competition for how long now? It's 50/50 standing and aldo has the better ground game. Simple as that, yes mcgregor has a chance to win standing, but he hasn't been past like the second round vs a high level fighter. aldo has been there many times, you can't have the slightest clue how mcgregor will perform if he can't knock aldo out in the first couple rounds. You have a clear idea of how aldo performs, he wins.. Every time.

You completely give aldo no chance and it's just embarrassing if you call yourself a true fan any sane fan knows this fight can go either way and should give credit where it's due.
