I can see it either way I guess. You made a couple of good points.

In the end, the UFC will probably drool over the idea of GSP vs Khabib if it goes beyond theory crafting. My guess is that if anything, the UFC would side with Khabib's demands because he's the more active fighter with the bigger future. However, GSP would be a massive draw for one event. I think they'll let Khabib fight his next scheduled defence even if talks get serious.

I dont know what kind of future you are refering to ? Khabib told many times that he wants to fight only two more times and the GSP super fight at the end so he may retire with a record of 30-0 and achieved his father's plan which is to fight Georges for the legacy. Dana with his useless belt system cannot do anything here to change his plan.

The UFC (or at least Dana White) may envision Khabib being convinced to keep going. He's not old. He just needs a challenge. If he fights GSP and loses--does he retire?

obv the plan is to reach 30-0 with GSP as the last legacy fight. If he lose to GSP ending up with 29-1, who knows what he will do.
