The corner can stop the fight because the fighter isn't coherent and/or isn't intelligently defending himself causing bodily harm. Therefore the corner who are coaches are the ones looking out for the well being of the fighter. regardless of how bad they want them to win, the sole purpose is to make sure your fighter isn't taking an unnecessary beating hindering their career in the future. The fact you don't understand that tells me you have never done any contact sports.
