That's only the state level, then you add 37% for federal. That means main eventers can be taxed 48%, which is quite reasonable for a top bracket still.

Here in Quebec it's 33+25=58%. France has 80% of anything above I think the first million. Scandinavian countries have 65 to 65% so that's same ballpark.

If anything, those fighters get ripped off because they still give near 50% yet get nearly no social safety net whatsoever.
