Yes conor has some obvious favoritism I’ll never deny that (he still had to grind though) and I think it’s bs he’s getting this title shot, but I still don’t see how you think people won’t respect him as a great when he’s only one of four people to simultaneously hold two belts at once.

The ufc does love to market him but you also can’t market someone who is bad to that level of success. Imagine if they tried to market someone like Brendan Schaub to a two belt status. It couldn’t be done. You still have to be able to dethrone the champs and have the skill to back up the trash talk that feeds the marketing.


You’re right about the title defenses though, that doesn’t sit so well with me.

It’s more a bias thing imo.

You don’t see (the same) people defend Jon Jones or Floyd Mayweather like Conor. And these men are arguably more accomplished than Conor in the same athletic field. And have just as questionable out of combat antics.

Conor is a short, white, loud mouth that is a lot more relatable to white 20-somethings.
