Yes, but the sport is still largely a freakshow
Top tier athletes won't bother wasting the small window they have for the paltry amounts the ufc pays the majority of the fighters
It was growing quickly and headed in the right direction, but the wwe-esque sideshow derailed any legitimacy it had built toward becoming a mainstream sport like basketball, baseball, football, soccer, hockey

Even cricket and rugby are still generating more viewers and income than mma
